I have over 15 years experience as a singer and performance artist, with over five years of formal operatic training in the bel canto method of Italian singing, supplemented by formal training in Jazz. Singing in over a dozen languages, I have performed a wide variety of musical genres at venues throughout the world, including Notre Dame in Paris, Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London, and Avery Fischer Hall in New York, and have done public speaking.
As a vocal performance major in college, I studied many singing styles with a variety of vocal coaches. Beginning voice lessons at age 13 and continuing through the present day, I have studied in both the collegiate and in the private sector with over a dozen coaches. This variety has helped to shape my teaching style to be adaptive and friendly.
I have taught beginning to intermediate students of all ages since 1998. Since moving to Minneapolis in 2001, I have taught voice related classes for Minneapolis Public Schools, Lake Harriet Spiritual Community, and The Learning Annex, as well as teaching privately from my home. I currently carry a calendar of 10-15 students each week in addition to directing Calliope Women's Chorus.
